Why Join Our CSA
Why Join a CSA?
Our CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) share allows you to enjoy the most nutritionally dense and delicious local food, invest in Kiss the Cow Farm, and strengthen your agricultural community. Kiss the Cow Farm’s CSA program directly supports our farm as well as other small, local, Vermont farms and food processors.
CSA members enjoy a personal relationship with their farmers, and a special involvement in our farm’s growing season. When you sign up for CSA, you share in the benefits of bountiful harvests, and you also help ensure financial stability for your area farmers. By paying for the membership up front, CSA members help us afford the next batch of chicks, or the next shipment of feed, allowing us to offer more locally-made food products, and make it possible for us to afford the labor and equipment required to run a small farm.
How a CSA Benefits YOU
How the CSA Model Helps the Farmer
When you join our membership program, you're doing more than simply buying groceries. You are also supporting local, sustainable food production and family farms like ours, which are a part of a larger movement to transform and regenerate our planet.
Our products are available to our members first, and markets second, because we value the direct relationship with our customers.
Financially, the CSA model provides us with a dependable income at a time of year when we need it most (winter and spring), plus a guaranteed market for our products. This program therefore reduces our financial risk and our need to take out costly loans. By removing the financial guesswork from our profit schedule, we are able to produce only what we need and be better stewards of our natural resources.
Plus, the CSA is a way for us (the farmers) to form lasting, meaningful connections with you (the people who buy our food). The relationship between farmers and eaters is an essential one for all parties. It's a relationship that grounds us all in this beautiful place that we live, allowing us to strengthen the land, the community, and the interpersonal connections that we all value.

This CSA is delicious!"
We love everything we’ve received so far, and are looking forward to quiche next week. Thanks for all the work you do so that we can buy great food - we appreciate it very much."
I can taste the high quality milk and eggs [in the Kiss the Cow quiche]. Wonderful. Even my partner liked it and he's a guy's guy."
